We personally used a Ridge Wallet for several years, and it’s one of the best wallets we’ve owned. Its light, slim design was a huge improvement on my old trifold, it held all the cards and cash we like to carry around, and it garnered frequent compliments from friends and strangers. The only downside to the Ridge setup is its relatively high cost, along with the separate purchase of the AirTag case. All-in-all, around $100 isn’t that much to spend for this kind of everyday functionality and security, which is why we recommend the Ridge Wallet as our best overall choice.

This Hawanik slim minimalist wallet is the best budget-friendly AirTag wallet we’ve found. It uses the same layout and design that you see across a lot of different wallets of its type, and it holds up to five credit cards, one ID, and several folded bills. Like many of the minimalist AirTag wallets out there, the device does thicken the profile of the wallet somewhat, but it will still easily fit in a front or inner jacket pocket.

Speaking from our own experience, we’ve owned this wallet as a backup for several years, and it works well for that purpose. It’s small, durable, and is great for daily use. It isn’t the largest or fanciest, but it offers a ton of value for the price.

Minimalist wallets have become more fashionable in the past few years, but they don’t work for everyone, especially if you want to carry more than a few cards or bills with you at all times. This Typecase AirTag wallet combines the classic bifold design that you know and love with a semi-slim profile that isn’t too fat to fit in your pocket.

Made of genuine leather, this AirTag wallet comes in two different sizes, one for 11 card capacity and another for 17. Lastly, another unique feature is that this wallet has two separate compartments for stowing an AirTag: You can place it in a designated spot to keep the tracker’s speaker exposed so you can hear it ring when you misplace your wallet. Or, you can tuck the AirTag in an inner compartment that keeps it hidden so a potential thief won’t know you can locate your wallet.

The success of the Ridge Wallet has inspired a number of similar designs to emerge, and most of them are significantly less expensive. While we certainly recommend the Ridge if you can swing it, this WXM AirTag Wallet is a great budget-friendly alternative. For example, it includes a built-in AirTag compartment, so you don’t have to worry about installing it yourself. It holds up to 15 credit cards, it’s made of solid, durable aluminum, and it comes in five different colors.

There’s an outside notch — so you always have quick access to your cards — and one of its sides has a money clip for those who prefer to carry around cash.

It’s worth mentioning that this wallet does have elastic bands on three of its corners, which have the potential to wear out over time. Fortunately, WXM says replacement parts will soon be available to customers still covered under the warranty.

The distinct aesthetic of the WXM Wallet is a strength or a weakness, depending on your personal taste. Having used it, we can say that it’s a good approximation of the Ridge design, though it can’t quite compare in terms of the finer details. If you’ve wanted to try a Ridge-style wallet but don’t want to spring $100+ for the privilege, this is a great get, especially if you want a good spot to store your AirTag but don’t feel like messing with tools or installation.

Another winner from Typecase, this Smart AirTag Wallet combines an unusual trifold design with an easy-access card slider to give you the best of both worlds. Its three panels allow you to stick a lot more cash in its back slot than other wallet layouts, and its various card holders add up to 14 total, which is more than enough for most people. Its top slider pushes out up to seven cards, similar to what you get with more traditional minimalist designs. As with many other wallets of its type, the AirTag slot is a stainless steel snap.

There are two minor drawbacks to this product: at nearly an inch thick, it’s definitely not the slimmest wallet out there, and it’s significantly more expensive than other Typecase wallets. For those who want a little more storage space, this is a good AirTag wallet option worthy of your consideration.

Although this tiny leather wallet wasn’t technically designed with AirTag trackers in mind, it stores one perfectly. This wallet is a good choice for folks who prefer to carry their wallets in their front pocket and want the more secure feeling of a zip-close wallet.

It has a small internal pouch to keep cards organized and protected, along with a SIM card slot for international travelers who can switch between multiple phone providers.

Measuring in at 4 inches wide and under 3 inches tall, the wallet offers enough room to stow an AirTag, five cards, and some cash. Bellroy backs its wallets with a 3-year warranty, and the wallet comes in five different colors. This AirTag wallet is a great option for those who want to use either of the wallet cards we recommend above to secure their AirTag, and the zip-close is the cherry on top.

If you’re looking for a bifold wallet that combines the best of traditional design in a slim, minimalist package, this Runbox is a fantastic choice. Similar to the Typecase we recommend above, this wallet has nearly the same layout as the fat bifold that a lot of us were toting around back in the day, but the overall profile is smaller and thinner to accommodate changing tastes.

It offers 11 card slots, including a quick-access compartment near the front, and an AirTag pocket that’s easier to use (though a bit more obvious) than similar designs. It also has a significant amount of space for cash, though not as much as some on our list. Overall, this AirTag wallet strikes a good balance between old-school bifold design and minimalist preferences, making it a solid choice.

If you don’t want to get rid of your current wallet but want to modernize it by adding an AirTag to it for tracking purposes, you should consider the TagVault. Unlike the stiff Spigen Air Fit that we recommend above, the small accessory is made of flexible silicone so it conforms to and flexes with your wallet, which makes it better for certain uses.

It’s shorter than a credit card — which keeps it hidden and out of view — and it’s just about as thin as the AirTag, so it won’t bulge out of your wallet. Its small size makes it a good option for putting an AirTag in a non-wallet container, such as a purse or glasses case, and its flexibility works better for certain wallets. It doesn’t fit in every wallet, and some people might prefer the Air Fit because of its uniform wideness, rather than the small lump the AirTag makes in the center of its holder. Regardless, both are great products that are good options for those who want the benefits of an AirTag wallet without having to buy a whole new wallet.

When it comes to AirTags, if you have a wallet you already love to use, you can consider an alternative option: buying a wallet card that essentially transforms your AirTag into a slightly thicker credit card. Not only is this Spigen Air Fit the thinnest possible AirTag holder, it’s also significantly less expensive than most of the wallets here. It’s also incredibly simple to add or remove your device, as you simply pry the two halves of the card apart to access it.

The Spigen Air Fit might not work well with hyper-thin wallets, as the natural thickness of the AirTag will take up a significant amount of space. As such, it’s best to consult the product page for the exact dimensions so you know it’ll fit in your wallet before you purchase. On balance, this is the best alternative to a new AirTag wallet we found, and that’s why we recommend it.
